Poem: Theology for beginners

Lie down in a meadow at night
and watch the pinpoints of light
dance across the skies

Read the first and the last line
of your favourite work of fiction…
Connect the dots

Observe the autumn leaves dressing up
in all their finery,
to swirl into oblivion

Swim naked in the sea,
Dance in a thunderstorm,
and feel the water without speak to the water within

Listen to the sound your fingers make
as they slide across guitar strings
creating something, from nothing

In the beginning was love.
Curiosity.
Imagination.

In each moment
we create
we choose
we breathe

If that is not divinity,
Tell me
— What is?
